It is ironic when we hear someone say that we need to “take the emotion out of this decision” when the root of the word emotion translates roughly into the “energy required for motion”. Neurology tells us that when the emotional centre is cut off or damaged it becomes quite impossible even to choose the correct answer from a multiple choice question as there is simply no motivation to do so.
